
OUR STORY
Nyamup was established as a timber mill town in 1939 and ceased producing timber in 1989. Nyamup Mill Town Holiday Village is now a tranquil escape surrounded by spectacular Marri, Jarrah and Karri Forests.
The Wilgarup River runs along the boundary of Nyamup creating a wonderland of native flora and fauna including kangaroos, emus and an abundance of vibrant birdlife can be spotted dancing amongst the expanse of trees. In the evenings on clear nights, star gazers will be amazed at the amount of stars & satellites visible, budding astronomers should bring their telescopes.
Nyamup is nestled in the heart of Western Australia's picturesque Southern Forests region near Manjimup. Our village offers a unique blend of history, natural beauty, and modern amenities, making it the perfect destination for families and nature enthusiasts, Manjimup, Pemberton and Bridgetown are all within easy commuting distance.

















The name "Nyamup" is derived from the Noongar word meaning "place of the black swan," reflecting the area's deep Aboriginal heritage. Historically, the region was known for its timber industry, with towering karri trees being a significant feature of the landscape. Over time, conservation efforts have preserved these natural wonders, allowing visitors to experience the grandeur of ancient forests firsthand.

Warren National Park: Covering approximately 13,000 hectares, this park is renowned for its majestic karri trees, some reaching heights of up to 90 meters. Visitors can enjoy walking trails, birdwatching, and picnicking amidst lush forests.
Diamond Tree: Standing at 51 meters, the Diamond Tree offers an exhilarating climb to its summit, providing panoramic views of the surrounding forest. Historically used as a fire lookout, it remains a testament to the region's rich ecological heritage.
Manjimup Heritage Park: Located in the town centre, this 12-hectare park features natural bushlands, heritage displays, and walking trails. Attractions include the State Timber Museum, the Power Up Electricity Museum, and an adventure playground for children.
